What Makes the Thali Set Special?
The Sunday & Monday Thali Set truly embodies Dé Buddha’s dedication to authentic, freshly prepared cuisine. Offered as part of our special menu, this carefully crafted 14-dish platter highlights the rich diversity of Nepalese flavors. Each dish is made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, all under the skilled guidance of our Chef Patron. The centrepiece of the Thali is the curry you choose, giving you the chance to customize your meal while enjoying a range of traditional side dishes.
A Feast of 14 Dishes
The Thali Set offers a delightful combination of textures and flavors, featuring:
- Your Choice of Curry: Choose from a variety of delicious options, including:
- Veg Kathmandu: A lively vegetable curry filled with the rich flavors of Himalayan spices.
- Chicken Kathmandu: Juicy chicken marinated with fragrant herbs and spices.
- Himalayan Lamb: Tender lamb simmered to perfection in a flavorful, spiced sauce.
- Gurkha Goat Meat Curry: A rich and traditional dish from Nepal, known for its deep, earthy flavors.
- Market Fish Curry: Tender fish wrapped in a delicious, aromatic curry sauce inspired by coastal flavors.
- Accompaniments: The remaining 13 dishes include essentials like dal (lentil soup), bhat (steamed rice), seasonal vegetables, pickles, chutneys, and more. Each component is crafted to enhance the curry, providing a delightful mix of spicy, tangy, and savory flavors.
Recommended Pairing: Chhyang (Rice Wine)
To enhance your Thali experience, we suggest enjoying it with Chhyang, a traditional rice wine from Nepal. This lightly sweet, fermented beverage provides a refreshing balance to the robust spices of the Thali, enriching the flavors and adding an authentic element to your meal. Our skilled mixologist also creates cocktails inspired by the Himalayas for those who prefer a contemporary twist, but Chhyang truly remains the classic choice for this cultural feast.
Why Visit on Sunday or Monday?
The Thali Set is available exclusively on Sundays and Mondays from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, making it a great way to start your week or relax after the weekend. This unique offering showcases Dé Buddha’s commitment to sustainability, as evidenced by the 2025 Scottish Sustainable Curry Award, and authenticity, with each dish made fresh and with great care. The cozy atmosphere, adorned with prayer wheels, Nepalese flags, and various antiques, provides a dining experience that transports you straight to Kathmandu.
❤️ A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Guests
Wee, i am not a big fan of restuarants or fine dines. But we decided to visit them and had been amused and was just in love with everything the moment in entered. We ordered quite qood amount of food that we could not finish. It was not 10/10 but it deserves 12/10 but i am so sorry it does not allow me to do that. The food is simply beyond excellence, the interior deserves an award and least not the last the service staff we do not know the name but (the slime one) one of the best service staff we have ever met in last 6 years. Till the last moment we left she was interactive, and a perfect helper. The restuarant is pretty far from us as we come from Stirling either we had been there daily just to be served by the same waiteress. Best Wishes.
